Guided Imagery

Guided imagery is a program of directed thoughts and suggestions that guide your imagination toward a relaxed, focused state. It is a counseling tool used to teach psychophysiological relaxation, alleviate anxiety and depression, relieve physical and psychological symptoms, and help patients prepare for surgery and tolerate procedures more comfortably.

The Academy for Guided Imagery (AGI) provides the nation's only comprehensive, integrated curriculum for teaching Interactive Guided Imagery (IGA) skills. The Academy’s Professional Certification Training Program offers 150 hours of in-depth training in IGA suitable for health care professionals, educators, and counselors.
